Award Winning Plant picks the 1996 WEFTEC Innovative BioSolids award winning EnVessel Pasteurization™ Process. Visit Reedsburg, Wisconsin.

Reedsburg was voted by the United States EPA as "The Best Plant in Wisconsin" in 1994. More recently in 1996, Reedsburg was named "Facility of the Year" by the Southern District of the Wisconsin Wastewater Operators Association.

Tom Scanlon

Tom Scanlon, Wastewater Superintendent, says that with their new System they have eliminated a dedicated person who hauled 1% sludge "every day they could". The new system allows them to apply one year's worth of BioSolids in only 3 weeks! The City owns approximately 40 acres of prime farmland, and all of the BioSolids are currently given to a local farmer who leases the property from the City. Feed corn and oats are grown with the Pasteurized BioSolids. For additional information contact Tom Scalon at 608-524-3615.
